Did you see our post last month talking about how important it is to secure your website before July 1st? If not you may have lost your site visibility to the public..
You may still be thinking that you don’t need to worry about SSL on your site… But trust us, if you aren’t secure you are missing out! Google now tells your customers that your site is not secure before they even open your webpage.
Here is what an insecure site looks like on Google now —
How many people want to click through when they see this? Many will just click off to a another site to get what they were looking for.
This may seem like a minor change to your website URL, but the fact is that if your site doesn’t have it then starting in July Google will be notifying your customers that your site is “not secure”. Which means that there is a stronger likelihood of a potential hack and that their information they are sharing with you could be exposed.
If you want customers to click from their search to your site, share their email addresses to be added to your newsletter, make purchases, or pretty much anything else on your site – you will want to secure it NOW before Google starts tagging you as a “not secure” site.
By securing your site you also protect your information from potential hackers and block your site ownership information from the public.
If this is new information to you,it’s time to do your research and if you need help give us a call.
